Actuator Endurance and Reliability Test Bed (AERTB)
Metrology Test Bed
AERTB is one of the four test beds which are developing in RRG. The overall objective of the Actuator Endurance and Reliability Test Bed at The University of Texas at Austin is to set up a foundation to create a revolutionary and universal motion control software technology in actuators enhancing the performance of robot actuators to drive a very broad range of machines in manufacturing.
Enhancements in the performance of next generation robot actuators require the development of highly efficient test bed which can accommodate various kinds of actuator modules, archiving of experiment results and analysis in many environments, sometimes severe, and the implementation of the analysis to the control software for the actuators to get higher performance.

The development of intelligent control software of the actuators which have many defects to be improved for the reliable and endurable performance provides the critical mass for the actuators of tomorrow.
